PEP
Mission Statement:
St. Michael Preschool Religious Education Program, for children ages 3 through kindergarten, is one of our parish’s efforts to promote the ongoing faith formation and religious instruction of our members. Through it we seek to foster growth in the actions, attitudes, and knowledge of the Catholic faith through use of a comprehensive, lectionary based program, which incorporates prayer, celebration, service, and witness.
Our PEP meets on Sunday mornings during the 9:30 mass. The classes are held in the old school building in the middle of the parking lot. We have a dedicated staff of 10 catechists and multiple aides teaching over 50 children on a weekly basis. If you are interested in sending your children, or helping out with this program, please contact Lori Webb, Preschool Coordinator at loriwoy@fuse.net

Sacramental Preparation
(Please see REP calendar for pertinent dates for 1st Reconcilliation, Eucharist or Confirmation)
Baptism: Please call the Pastoral Offices during the last three months of your pregnancy. A preparation session is required. (563-6377 ext 307)
Reconciliation: First Reconciliation is ordinarily celebrated in the second grade. Parent’s sessions are held to assist them in working with their child. The catechists and day school teachers prepare the children for their first time. The sacrament is received during class, as a large group, to help ease some of the fears the little ones might have.
First Eucharist: First Eucharist is also ordinarily celebrated in the second grade. Parent sessions are held to assist them in working with their child for this sacrament. The students are required to study the sacrament, attend mass every Sunday, participate in two First Eucharist Rituals, and attend the Parent/Child “Jesus Day” workshop in order to be prepared for this sacrament.
Confirmation: Confirmation is ordinarily celebrated in the eighth grade. Parent and Sponsor sessions are held to assist them in working with the candidate. The students are required to attend the parent/student meeting, the Sponsor/candidate meeting, a Confirmation ritual, the Confirmation retreat, rehearsal, and the Confirmation mass.
Ministry to the Sick: Please call the Pastoral offices to let us know about parishioners confined to home or hospital. If you or someone you love would like to receive the sacrament of anointing of the sick, please contact Father Jeff Silver at 563-6377 ext 309, or at 563-2114 outside of business hours.
Marriage: Please contact the Pastoral Offices before making any arrangements for reception, etc. A minimum of six months is required for preparation time.
Holy Orders: In order to obtain information about seminary and priestly life, contact the Vocation Director at the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Father Kyle Schnippel at 513-421-3131, 1-800-686-2724, or vocations@catholiccincinnati.org or see www.cincinnativocations.org.
