The Church's catechetical mission aims to help the faithful of all ages to grow in both human and Christian maturity, enriching the whole of life with the leaven of the Gospel. Appropriate goals and content embrace the understanding of communicating the faith, skills needed for personal growth, the experience of family life, relationships, public service, and concern for the common good.
Our faith formation ministries engage the particular needs and interests of the people in each local community. To be faithful and effective it offers, over time, a comprehensive and systematic presentation and exploration of the core elements of Catholic faith and practice—a complete initiation into a Catholic way of life. Our programs are accessible to adults, teens, and children; relating to each of their unique life experiences, helping them to form a Christian conscience and to live their lives in the world as faithful disciples of Jesus.
Bible Study with Fr. Tom
Join Fr. Tom and parishioners from our family of parishes for a virtual Bible Study. Each week, time is spent in prayer, reflection, and conversation about the upcoming weekly Bible readings. This group will come together weekly on Wednesdays at Noon in September and October via Zoom. Zoom is a free video conferencing platform and a secure weekly link to join will be provided to guests. To receive the online meeting link, please contact the Parish Office | (513) 563-6377.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a process of initiation into the Catholic Community of Faith. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and explore the basic tenets of the Catholic faith. We realize that many people are searching and need to know more about the Church before they make this commitment. We also realize that Catholicism is not for everyone. After inquiry, enlightenment and discernment, committed catechumens are initiated at the beginning of Lent.
The journey of the RCIA is beginning. If you are interested in becoming Catholic, or know someone who might be, contact Scott Steinke at the St. John Parish Office | (513) 777-6433.
