All children in grades 1-8 who do not attend a Catholic school are encouraged to participate in the St. Michael Parish School Religion (PSR). PSR is designed to promote catechesis and education as a solid foundation that children can carry with them into adulthood. This is accomplished by promoting and strengthening the Catholic faith within a nurturing and supportive learning environment. We are committed to providing an environment that will allow children to learn, experience, and grow as members of our Catholic community.
Parish School Religion (PSR) Grades 1 - 8 Sunday Mornings | 10:05-11:15 a.m. | St. Michael Church Kindergarten & Pre-K (4-5 Year Olds)* Sunday Mornings | 10:05-11:15 a.m. | St. Michael Church *Children must be potty-trained to attend
Volunteers Needed St. Michael parish can always use your support as a PSR teacher or substitute teachers. Please consider joining the team! Young people today need more adults to be a part of their lives, especially adults that love Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith. Consider sharing your faith this coming school year. All materials and assistance will be provided. If you need more information or have any questions, please contact Mary Heilers.
Child Protection Information The Archdiocese uses the SafeParish platform for Child Protection training and compliance. SafeParish is an organization that specializes in training and education solutions for organizations world-wide. They have 20+ years of experience in providing child safe environment training programs. SafeParish will continue to work with our current background check provider – Selection.com. Ongoing child protection training will still be required for all volunteers and employees - it will consist of quarterly interactive video-based training instead of monthly bulletins. Please check your email for an invitation from SafeParish (administration@aocsafeenvironment.org). If you have received the message, simply follow the prompts. Otherwise, you can link to the SafeParish address and click the “Register” link to begin the process. It is your responsibility, to make sure your contact information is current and the list of locations in your account is current. You can add and delete locations by going to 'Update My Account.'
Background Checks Everyone MUST have background checks completed – either electronically and/or through fingerprinting. If you have questions, please contact Katherine Walton, St. Michael Safe Environment Coordinator.
